Job Title: Overnight Advocate
Responsible To: Shelter Director
Supervisor: Susan Spector, Volunteer Coordinator
Time: 8pm-8am
Location of Volunteer Work: 336 N. Rush St, Prescott, AZ

DUTIES
  • Main task consists of sleeping on site
  • Help oversee shelter chores in morning and at night
  • Supervise guests throughout the night

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Working with homeless and/or young adult populations
  • Crisis management
  • Supervising others

Training provided: Minimal on-going training is required

What is meaningful about this position:
    This volunteer position maintains a safe and comfortable environment for shelter guests each night. Overnight Advocates sleep in same room as the guests and ensure all rules, wake up times, and chores are maintained each night/morning.
Number of Volunteers Needed: 1 each night of the week, position receives a $25 stipend/per night

Committment:1 night per week for at least 3 months, or may be trained as on-call (must have flexible schedule to fill in gaps as needed)
